End of Winter = BockFest! End of 10 days below freezing = Let’s Drink! Let’s Drink = (by my wife) let’s sort your health insurance claims … what?! 🤪 good luck with that.

I was pleasantly surprised when I asked Siri for the time of a college basketball game, without specifying men’s or women’s, and it made me select rather than just assuming I wanted the men’s team.

Since our department takes care of both live-streaming and digital signage in our school district, making it possible to watch show choir events in overflow areas, cafeterias, volunteer rooms and coach lounges falls to us. We do this for 6 of our 8 high schools and each usually lasts around 15 hours. They are long days and make for short weekends, but it is a joy to see the students perform and the shows get better through the season!

Question-of-the-day on the lunch net here in town was "do you have a typewriter?" and it reminded me of this German one I've had since middle school — when I found it in the attic of a home we lived in. It was used the most when it served as a sort of guest book in my college dorm room, where people would leave messages. I wish I had kept any of those sheets! The keyboard includes ß and umlaut but omits a one and zero — you have to use the lowercase “L” or a capital “O”.

@cpultz I like the cash option, too, although I think it's not enough. I think $5 is like 1000 points, while you can get a Runza for free for 800 points, and it costs more than $5.

Some friends and I had a fantastic weekend at a state park cabin. How many radios do 3 people need? 30ish? 😂 We hunted satellites, used meshtastic, erected a variety of wire, horizontal and loop antennas, used phone modes, data modes and cw/morse code. Can’t wait for next year!

@cpultz use those points, man!

going to a bowl! Our son is in the drumline and we’ve heard tales from so many parents whose kids went all through school with seasons that always ended in November… I’m so happy for him and the band that they get to travel this year… — As one that was college-aged during the National Championship years in the 90’s, I can’t believe that not going to a bowl is even a thing.

James Hoffmann has been talking about doing this for a lonnnnng time and I’m so glad it’s here. I’m excited to pick up a kit or two and learn about these processes. youtu.be/2t7Ba8Vr9HY

fun tonight… aimed the yagi antenna at the ISS and pulled a SSTV image off of it. Hoping to get some better ones with higher passes over the weekend. ariss.org/

My daughter had fall break today so we took the opportunity to go on a photo hike at a nearby camp. It seems like fall has taken forever to arrive.

Been doing the Sunday night ARES net for over a year now… here we go again…

@cpultz me too!!

Drove out of town to catch the last night and got there just in time. It faded pretty quickly after this.

@nirak i’d have to take peanut butter for sure! Some love chocolate — I’m in for PB 😋

@cpultz I was trying to remember last night. Was there a time, during the couple postseason runs the Royals had a few years ago (probably longer ago than I realize) that there were concurrent home royals and chiefs games? I seem to remember a helicopter shot showing that — but perhaps arrowhead's lights were just on.

@Strandjunker Neither side wants geography to decide. Show me someone who wants local control and I'll show you someone who doesn't have total control. Next it will be the left fighting to retain local control while the right works to prevent women and doctors from making their own decisions nationwide — and if that happens, geography, once again, will not be an issue. ☹️

I don't know what the point of Google Maps' automated moderation is. We have people updating properties with information that doesn't require Gemini-level intelligence to say, "That seems bogus.”

Seems like Big Ten could at least update their logo to reflect reality

My daughter is a living-breathing denial-of-service attack. She talks so much I can’t even have thoughts of my own. My brain just shuts down under the onslaught of words. 😀

@alper Cool. Just curious about general impressions — things that specs don't tell you… build quality, how does it feel, how does it sound…

@rustywx Thanks. I hope that will hold. It will give everyone a reason to go home 😄

@rustywx East graduation on Saturday and hoping/planning for an outdoor party... how's that looking to you right now? Forecasts that I've seen seem to indicate overcast and a little chilly, but mostly dry. Thanks!

@cpultz Funny to read people here on-upping each other on how bad road construction is in their own country: reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck

Risking a muscle strain from rolling my eyes every time someone mentions that they "researched" something. It's clear from what they have recently discovered that they didn't even get past the result screen of their Bing search — there's no way this person went with anything but the default browser on their Walmart $349 17" laptop.
